This name, according to an oral tradition, was baptized by King Ang Chan (1516-1566) as “Siem Reap”, meaning “the flat defeat of Siam” (Cambodians call Siam or Thailand “Siem”). Welcome to the Missions Website for West London Alliance Church. This site has served WLA teams that have visited Serbia, Poland, and this year, Cambodia!
We encourage you to browse the website to see blog posts and pictures from previous trips. And of course, stay tuned for real-time updates from Cambodia.
God has called each one of us to serve others and in doing so, we are confident He will stretch and expand our understanding of Him and what it means to love our neighbor. We will be teaching ESL to Cambodian students, helping Bill and Ilana Lobbezoo as they continue to be obedient to Gods calling in their lives. And finally, we hope to encourage those around us to listen and act, for it is here we truly understand what God has done for us.
This years team includes Lyall and Julie Mix, Matt and Kate Thompson, Steve and Cheryl Hargraves, Tim and Karen Suderman, and Brian and Corinne Klassen. While these are the people God has called to get on a airplane and fly half way around the world, they each take family, friends and the entire WLA community with them in their hearts. Please pray for us as we serve a great, big, wonderful God.
